LACD UK Ltd held a 50-delegate multilingual meeting at Cambridge Cottage on the grounds of Royal Botanic Gardens Kew on Monday, 22 June 2026. The event required simultaneous interpretation across four channels: English as the source language, with live interpretation into French, Portuguese and Spanish, for delegates attending both in person and remotely via Zoom.
The interpretation brief called for a full Bosch DCN and Integrus setup: three soundproof interpreter booths (two tabletop booths for French and Portuguese and one ISO 4043 standing booth for Spanish), a Bosch Central Control Unit, a 4-language Integrus IR transmitter with radiators, and 58 IR wireless receivers with single-ear headphones for the seated delegates.
The hybrid brief added live Zoom streaming with three separate language audio channels routed to remote interpreter channels, alongside a video feed of the main session, 4K camera capture, and three dedicated on-site specialists to run the interpretation, streaming and camera work.

THE EVENT PRODUCTION BRIEF: SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETATION ACROSS FOUR CHANNELS FOR AN IN-PERSON AND HYBRID ZOOM AUDIENCE
The event production challenge was to engineer a complete simultaneous interpretation system for a 50-delegate meeting where every attendee, whether in the room or joining remotely via Zoom, needed to follow the session in their preferred language.
For the in-room audience, that meant a full Bosch DCN and Integrus setup: three soundproof interpreter booths, a 4-language Integrus IR transmitter, IR radiators positioned for even room coverage, and 58 individual wireless IR receivers with single-ear headphones, one per delegate.
For the remote audience on Zoom, the same interpretation streams needed to be routed separately as three additional language audio channels, alongside a main video feed of the meeting. This required a dedicated encoder and streaming setup running through three separate USB audio interfaces on a Zoom-connected laptop.
DELIVERING THE INTERPRETATION AND HYBRID STREAMING AS ONE INTEGRATED EVENT PRODUCTION
EMS Events treated the LACD UK Ltd brief as one integrated event production, combining specialist simultaneous interpretation with hybrid Zoom streaming and 4K video capture under a single project plan. On the day, three on-site specialists worked the room: an event interpretation technician, a streaming and encoder technician, and a camera operator. Two-person setup and breakdown crews handled the build and derig at the venue.
BOSCH DCN AND INTEGRUS FOR FOUR-CHANNEL SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETATION
The interpretation setup was built around a Bosch DCN system, with a Central Control Unit running the interpreter workflows, a Bosch Integrus 4-language IR transmitter carrying the four audio channels (English source, plus French, Portuguese and Spanish interpretation), and paired IR radiators mounted on stands to give even coverage across the Cambridge Cottage room.
58 Bosch Integrus 32-channel IR wireless receivers were distributed to delegates, each with a single-ear headphone, allowing every delegate to hear their chosen language while remaining in the room. Delegates simply switched channels on their receiver to move between the four available languages.
A backup Bosch DCN Central Control Unit was included in the setup, giving the specialist interpretation technician redundancy against any live-event issues.
THREE SOUNDPROOF INTERPRETER BOOTHS FOR THE FRENCH, PORTUGUESE AND SPANISH TEAMS
Three soundproof interpreter booths supported the interpretation team. Two tabletop booths, each accommodating two interpreters, were installed for the English-to-French and English-to-Portuguese interpreter pairs, providing the interpreters with isolated acoustic environments while keeping the table footprint compact for the 50-delegate room.
For the Spanish-to-English pair, a full ISO 4043-compliant two-user standing booth was installed, measuring 1.8 metres by 1.8 metres and equipped with internal lighting, meeting the international standard for mobile simultaneous interpretation booths used in professional conference settings.
Each booth was fed by a dedicated Bosch DCN-IDESK Interpreter Control Unit, giving each interpreter individual channel selection and microphone control across the session.
HYBRID ZOOM STREAMING WITH THREE SEPARATE LANGUAGE AUDIO CHANNELS
For the remote audience on Zoom, the interpretation streams were routed separately to give viewers the same language choice as the delegates in the room. A dedicated streaming laptop, an Asus TUF F17 with an Elgato capture card and streaming software, connected to the client’s Zoom account to deliver the main video feed.
Alongside the main stream, three Behringer USB audio interfaces routed the French, Portuguese, and Spanish interpretation channels separately from the client’s own Yamaha QL1 mixing desk, using a mix-minus configuration, to the individual Zoom interpreter channels for the remote audience.
A dedicated, hardwired 5 Mbps venue internet connection anchored the streaming chain, with a dedicated encoder and streaming technician managing the output throughout the meeting.
4K VIDEO CAPTURE AND THREE SPECIALIST TECHNICIANS ON SITE
A dedicated camera operator used a Canon XF605 4K camera on a Manfrotto tripod to capture the meeting from a fixed position throughout the session. The camera recorded to onboard SD cards, with the raw MP4 file delivered to the client within two working days of the meeting’s close.
The video signal ran through a Roland V-8 HD video mixer for the main stream feed, with an Acer 22-inch confidence monitor at the technical position and a 3G-HD SDI-to-HDMI converter in the signal chain.
Three dedicated EMS Events specialists worked the room throughout the day: the event interpretation technician, the streaming and encoder technician, and the camera operator, each managing their own specialist domain within the production.
THE PRODUCTION DAY AT CAMBRIDGE COTTAGE ON 22 JUNE 2026
The event production was delivered as a single, integrated on-site operation throughout the working day at Cambridge Cottage in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
PRE-PRODUCTION
Planning covered the Bosch interpretation setup, IR system positioning for even room coverage, Zoom streaming architecture with three-language audio channels, video capture and encoder configuration, and crew rota and Cambridge Cottage access logistics at Kew Gardens.
SETUP AT THE VENUE
A two-person setup crew installed the three interpreter booths, the Bosch DCN and Integrus system, 58 IR receivers, a Zoom streaming setup with three USB audio interfaces, a Roland switcher, and a 4K camera positioned ahead of the meeting.
MEETING LIVE
The event interpretation technician managed the Bosch system across the session, the encoder technician managed the Zoom output with three language channels, and the camera operator ran the 4K capture through the meeting.
DERIG AND LOGISTICS
A two-person breakdown crew cleared the interpreter booths, IR system, receivers, streaming and camera setup, returning all equipment to the EMS Events warehouse in a transit-insured van via the Kew Gardens venue access route.

HOW THE MULTILINGUAL MEETING CAME TOGETHER
